Picture quality ( inverse of jpg compression) is adjustable. Select it and then push the "Photo" button. You will see the picture to be transfered quality and the corresponding file size.
A "Journal" area memorises the events.
The upper left picture corresponds to the
video source in real time.
The upper right picture is the one to be
uploaded.
The small picture is reduced size one to
be uploaded (option).
To take manually a picture.
To upload manually the picture and (option)
the mini picture.
The "Trigger" area defines the manual , automatic or movement detection mode. In automatic it's possible to set the start and stop time during the day. The delay between two "upload" is defined in seconds. In movement detection it's possible to set a threshold manually or automatically.
The "Format" area defines the type of pictures. No for the mini picture unselect this option.
Source selection (webcam)
First you should have install one software/driver
for your cam.
The list of the available video drivers is presented
in the "Options" menu. Select one.
Once one source selected, go to "Format"
and "Source" to set the parameters of the video
source.
FTP settings
In the "Options" menu select "FTP
settings".
Fill the corresponding server parameters.
Do not select Passive FTP ( recommended )
Give a name to the main picture as "photo.jpg" to store it in the root of the server area. If needed write
before a sub directory name as: sub_dir/photo.jpg. Be sure
that the corresponding sub directory exists on the web site.
If you wish to store locally and on the distant
server an historic of the pictures, just fill the "How
Much" field. The names of the stored pictures will
be the name of the main picture followed by a number. Ex:
"photo_0001.jpg". The numbering goes from 0001
to the max specified then restart from 1.
If you wish to store the first picture took
every hour, just click the "Every Hour" field.
The names of the pictures will be "photo_h00.jpg"
to "photo_h23.jpg".
Do the same for the mini picture if selected
with a different name.
Local Files
In the "Options" menu select "Local
Files".
Don't fill the form if you don't wish to store
pictures locally.
Title on picture
In the "Options" menu select "Title".
Write a title and select font and display position.
Do the same for the date and time.
"Swap colours" applies to the analog
watch.
Parameters
To start webcamfirst at each power on,
put a shortcut in the start folder. Then you can select
the option to start Webcamfirst the window closed.
Webcamfirst proposes a file to
be displayed when the webcam is stopped in automatic
mode. Keep it or select your own.
As stated above an historic of
the pictures can be stored locally and/or on
the distant server.
If you select the picture triggering by
movement detection, you can delay the start time .
In case of large number of movements the
number of pictures to be upload can be automatically
reduced
An historic of the pictures can be stored
locally and/or on the distant server. Fill the "How
much" area. The numbering is cycling from 1 to
the max value. The picture names will be as for the
main picture followed by a number, ex: "picture_0001.jpg,
...., picture_0100.jpg . The index can be rest to 1
manually, daily or weekly.
If you wish to store one picture every
hour daily or weekly, select the corresponding option.
The picture names will be "picture_h00.jpg to picture_h23.jpg"or
"picture_d1_h00.jpg to picture_d7_h23.jpg" (monday to sunday).
LAN or FTP allow storage locally or on
the web server.
